Farm Manager
Farm Manager for Farm Town is a workbook containing several spreadsheets for managing your farms. With it you can store all the data about your farms and plan four day planting and harvesting cycles. Since the introduction of production facilities in the game the virtual farm has become more of a virtual business. The new facilities and buildings along with the availability of several farms a player could actually build a small rural community complete with schools, apartments, supermarkets and more.
Version 6.1 is finally ready and available for download. I completely rebuilt the workbook in Excel then downgraded it to the lower versions of Excel. I have tested the workbook in Office 97, I have no way to test it in Office 95 however the Excel version 5 does operate correctly. Excel version 5 does not support conditional formatting, cell merging or hyperlinks. Those features have been removed from that version. I have also imported the workbook into the Calc program for Open Office for those using that office suite, other than some minor formatting differences it seem to operate correctly. Open Office is a free office suite available for download from the OpenOffice.org web site, created by Sun Microsystems.
What Is New With Farm Manager
This version has support for up to 12 farms and two additional land sizes if they are released in the future. The Harvest Planners now have a 5 day harvest cycle to accomodate the new 5 day seed. It also has a minimum of 30% expansion for future releases that will allow the user to keep their workbook current with the game. This version is complete with the latest data up to the last update of the game on Ju;u 28, 2011. I have at least 200 hours invested in this project with about a third of the time in testing and debugging. I think I have found all the typos and formula bugs however it seems as though a few always escape me. This is what you can do with the Farm Manager
- Keep track of your current coins, XP and farm cash.
- Track your real cash expenses for farm cash or coins (although some may not want to know how much real cash they spend on the game).
- See how many points you need to reach the next level, what level your are currently at and what the next level is.
- See how many coins or farm cash you need to upgrade to the next size or purchase the next farm.
- Keep an inventory of your farms. Trees, animals, structures, and all the other items you can add to the farms and know where they are located.
- Plan up to a four day planting and harvesting cycle your farms.
- The costs and harvest returns now show the differences adjusting for the plowing costs.
- There is a summary table with the data on your farm value and for the planned crops.
- Keep information about all your neighbors for reference.
- You can manage your farm more like a business and use the information to make good decisions on your game plan and help new players jump levels rapidly.
