Super Berries was the first Limited Edition seed, the Hot Air Balloon was the first Limited Edition decoration, and the Baby Elephant was the first Limited Edition animal, however none of these had a Theme. The first Limited Edition theme was Sweet Seeds for Haiti with Sweet Potato seed and required a License for 25 Farm Cash to purchase and plant. Players received a Sweet Seeds Reward Flag which was the first themed Limited Edition decoration. Halloween 2009 was the first theme which included buildings, decorations, and seeds. Close Encounter 2009 was the first theme with an animal. Limited Edition items are only available during certain time spans, some have been re-introduced for other themes, Mystery Boxes, Crates, Chests, Games, and some were re-released with no theme. Some of the Limited Edition items have been added to the game as permanent items available for purchase from the FarmVille store and others such as Calves and Foals are available for adoption from FaceBook posts. Limited Edition items aquired by trading in gifted specialty items such as Valentines or Gold are still available as long as the player keeps the container on the farm. Some of the specialty items can be collected more than one way, they are listed multiple times with the source for each.
The listing below is the total of all the Limited Edition items from 2009 to the last update. This list includes the items added to the game by FarmVille's Haiti Relief Effort. The Haiti Relief Effort is listed on a separate page due to the different nature of the project.
