Farm Manager
Farm Manager for Farm Town is a workbook containing several spreadsheets for managing your farms. With it you can store all the data about your farms and plan four day planting and harvesting cycles.
Version 5 is finally ready and available for download. I completely rebuilt the workbook in Excel version 5.0. It was upgraded to higher versions of Excel from that. I have also imported the workbook into the Calc program for Open Office 3.1 for those using that office suite. Open Office is a free office suite available for download from the OpenOffice.org web site, created by Sun Microsystems. This is the newest release of my Farm Manager Workbook, a spreadsheet for managing your Farm Town Farms.
What Is New With Farm Manager
This version now has the ability to manage and plan crops for two farms. The farm inventory has been moved to a separate sheet. There are assignment columns to keep track of what items you have on each farm. There is a table for the seasonal items; I have included the Halloween, autumn, and Thanksgiving items for those who may still have some of those items on the farm or in the storage bin. The farm info page now includes assets and investments tables. The sheets have been redesigned for easier and faster updating.
There are two crop planner sheets, one for each farm. Each has new calculators for the new short term crops, fields needed for planting short growth crops, and cycles needed to plant the short growth crops using a set number of fields. There is a new sheet for keeping track of your neighbors; this was a request from one of the users of the workbook. I am always interesting in any ideas to make this a better tool for all to use.
I have made every effort to ensure there are no bugs in the formulas however there could still be some needing corrections or changing. I will post any corrections on this page as they occur. The last game release was the largest so far and there is some data I do not have at this time. The data sheet will need to be updated with the new information. I will post the updates as I get more information. The last game update caused a lengthy delay of this release; I had to redesign the tables and sheets to accommodate the new items and the ability to now have a second farm. I did not want to further delay the release waiting on the missing information.
It is now available Excel version 9.0.2720 (Office 2000), Excel version 8.0 (Office 97), Excel 97 & 5.0/95 workbook, Excel 5.0/95 workbook, and Open Office 3.0. The Open Office file has the .odf extension (Open Document File) that should be able to be opened with other spreadsheet programs. They are each compressed in a .zip file and now have a short basic manual in a text file, and as an office document which should be compatible with the version of Excel and Open Office with the exception of the 5.0 version which is a MS Word 6.0 document.
I have written a brief manual on how to use the Farm Manager and there is a copy on the site now. Farm Manager Manual. This will show you the basics of what the Farm Manager is and what can be done with it. It seems during the final edit of the manual I errantly left two words in which should have been deleted, this has been fixed, my apologies for any confusion. The original test was based on a three day cycle, with the first version before Pumpkins were available. You can see farm images taken during the test period. Farm Manager Test Images.
I seems no matter how many times I step through the tables I always seem to miss something that needs to be fixed. If you find any bugs or bad formulas please let me know. I did have a few 3 am sessions with this so not being fully awake with clumsy fingers there may be typos or bad references I haven't found. You can use the email link below or the form at the bottom of this page to send any bugs, comments, questions, or suggestions.

It seems the sendmail program is broken once again. I have not been getting email from the forms using that program so I have disabled the function until it gets fixed again.
